Indoors:

  • Space for building with various sizes and kinds of blocks
  • Time for puzzles and other manipulative materials
  • Supply of materials for creative and sensory experiences
  • Dramatic play with housekeeping, firefighter and train props, etc.
  • Opportunities to enjoy music and listen to stories
  • Chance to practice social, cooperative play
  • Time to learn the what, where, why, and how of routine self-care

Outdoors:

  • Space and equipment for vigorous, large-muscle activities, which they love and need (running, riding, climbing, building, swinging, and balancing)
  • Time to give vent to one’s energies in vigorous dramatic play or just dream in the sandbox
  • Opportunity to explore beyond the school on various field trips
