The Parent/Toddler Class is a playgroup for toddlers (ages 2–3) and their caregiver that meets at the Acton Coop Preschool. The morning includes a circle time with music and stories, an art activity, and outdoor playtime. Caregivers, along with the teacher, model beginning school routines and social interactions that will make the transition to preschool next year easier for their child. There are three 5-week sessions offered throughout the year. Each session runs independent of the previous one. The cost is $60 for a 5-week session payable at the time of sign-up. I love that all the Coop teachers are parents themselves and that they have all been teaching at the Coop for many years; between home and the classroom, they’ve seen it all. I’ve learned so much from watching them handle everything from temper tantrums to teaching moments with expertise and warmth. They are all smart, nurturing, and creative -- and made for a perfect first school experience for each of my children.
